Turpin & Miller LLP were highly commended by the Law Society for their work in facilitating a fortnightly legal advice clinic for foreign nationals facing deportation at HMP Huntercombe. This clinic was established in 2018 in collaboration with the Oxford Centre for Criminology and the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights and is funded by the AB Charitable Trust. We are delighted that this important contribution to access to justice has been acknowledged by the Law Society in the Excellence in Access to Justice category. It is a testament to the outstanding work by Turpin & Miller LLP and the commitment of Oxford students to provide fair and equal access to those most at risk of being excluded from our legal system. A new cohort of graduate students supporting the clinic has just been appointed and we look forward to resuming the clinics this term after a pause due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
