Night Duty Staff - Pathways to Law National Conference in Warwick, August 2023

We are looking for one student to fill a Night Duty Staff position for the Pathway to Law National Summer Conference at Warwick University, running from the 8th to 11th August 2022.  Accommodation and meals will be provided, but the cost of travel to Warwick will not be covered. 

The Conference will welcome 250 Pathways to Law students from the twelve participating institutions for a four-day residential event which will include a variety of activities focused on the sector.  Students will be staying in student accommodation at the University of Warwick, and the Night Duty team will be responsible for supervising them between around 19.45 and 06.00 each night. A Night Duty Manager will supervise each night shift and support you in your duties.

Duration and hours

The National Conference will take place on Tuesday 8th  August- Friday 11th August 2023. Training will take place over zoom from 2-3pm on the 28th of July.

The total hours of work during these dates will be: 35

Breaks will be permitted but will not be paid.

You will be engaged by the Faculty of Law to undertake this work, and your timesheets will be submitted to Tasneem Hussain, who will pass them to the Faculty Payroll Office for payment.  Tasneem is the Faculty's Access Officer, and also the Pathways to Law Co-ordinator at Oxford. 

Reporting

The Team Leader will report in the first case to Tasneem Hussain and then to the relevant member of The Sutton Trust with the responsibility of managing the Team Leaders.

Person Specification

Ideally you should satisfy most, if not all, of the following criteria:

  • A current undergraduate or postgraduate student
  • Experience of working with young people
  • Experience working in a residential environment.

Rate of Pay

The hourly rate of pay will be £12.12 per hour (Grade 3.1 on the University casual pay spine).

In addition, paid annual leave will be assumed to be taken in the month in which it was accrued.

This work is funded by the Sutton Trust, who fund the Faculty of Law Pathways to Law program.
