Professor Xia Xiao
Professor Xia Xiao is an Academic Visitor at the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford. She is Professor of Law at Shandong University of Finance and Economics and previously served as a Judicial Researcher at the High People’s Court of Zhejiang Province, China. Her research interests lie in data law, intellectual property law, and private international law.
Professor Xiao is the author of Big Data Development and Legal Application of Cross-Border Data Protection and numerous publications on data governance, intellectual property, and private international law. She currently leads a National Social Science Fund of China project on the construction of foreign-related private law frameworks for data transactions.
During her visit to Oxford, hosted by Professor Dev Gangjee, she is exploring legal frameworks for digital assets and cross-border data transactions, with particular interest in the international harmonisation of private law rules in the digital economy.
