Pip holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and a Bachelor of Journalism and a Bachelor of Communication, majoring in Public Relations, from the University of Queensland, Australia. In 2013, Pip was a Visiting Junior Academic to the Oxford Institute of Population and Ageing. During this time, her research focused on Elder Law, particularly the difficulties older people face in obtaining protection against financial elder abuse under the guardianship regime in Queensland. Pip completed the Master of Studies in Legal Research at St Edmund Hall, Oxford and is presently completing a Doctor of Philosophy in Law. Before commencing her studies at Oxford, Pip was a Solicitor specialising in commercial law.

Pip has been an Editor of the Oxford University Commonwealth Law Journal (OUCLJ) since 2014 and is the Convenor of the Children's and Family Law Discussion Group
