Villy de Luca

Villy de Luca is a UK qualified lawyer now working in London as Head of High Touch Trading and Syndicate (EMEA) at Squarepoint Capital LLC, one of the world’s leading systematic hedge funds. Prior to Squarepoint, he worked as an associate in Allen & Overy LLP’s international capital markets department, in both its London and New York offices.

Villy graduated summa cum laude from Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi in 2011 and then completed the M.Sc. in Law and Finance at the University of Oxford, Jesus College. In 2012, Villy was awarded the Freshfields’ Prize as Italy’s best law graduate of the year. The same year, the Institute of International Commercial Law awarded his thesis, titled “The conformity of the goods to the contract,” the Clive M. Schmitthoff award and published it as a book in the United States.

On a more personal note, Villy writes for the Huffington Post in Italy and is Junior Fellow of the Aspen Institute since 2017.
