Professor Green became Law Commissioner for Commercial and Common Law in the Law Commission of England and Wales in 2019. Prior to this, she was Professor of Private Law at the University of Bristol from August 2017 to January 2020, and Professor of Obligations at the University of Oxford from September 2010 to August 2017. She graduated with a first class degree in MA Jurisprudence from Balliol College, Oxford, and subsequently achieved an MSc in Industrial Relations with the Saïd Business School.
Her role includes updating the Commission on developments in bioethics, cybercrime, 'big data', security and privacy, artificial intelligence, and the digital economy. She has written extensively on issues including virtual currencies, blockchain issues surrounding intermediated securities, smart contracts, sale of goods law as applicable to digitised assets, and wage theft.
