Join us for a pre-read workshop on Prof David Boonin’s forthcoming book, Artificial Intelligence, Ethics, and the State: Two Cheers for Our New Robot Overlords

Prof Boonin is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Colorado Boulder and is widely known for his influential work in practical ethics, political philosophy, and bioethics. His publications include A Defense of Abortion; The Problem of Punishment; Beyond Roe: Why Abortion Should Be Legal—Even if the Fetus Is a Person; Dead Wrong: The Ethics of Posthumous Harm; and The Non-Identity Problem and the Ethics of Future People.

The workshop will take place on 24 June at 16:00 at the Uehiro Institute, University of Oxford, and will focus on Chapter 4 of the forthcoming book: “Recidivism Prediction Algorithms and the Problem of Opacity”.

The session will provide an opportunity to discuss and engage with Prof Boonin’s work in progress in a collaborative and informal setting.
