British Academy Fellowship Report Launch: Beyond the Barriers - exploring access to family justice for women in prison in England and Wales
The consequences of criminal convictions and prison sentences, for those involved in family law proceedings have previously been unexplored, but Dr Shona Minson's two year British Academy study using data from prison social workers, and family court judiciary, considers whether procedural justice exists for such mothers in prison and explores the issues around the right to a fair hearing for imprisoned women.
At this webinar to mark the publication of the report, the author, Dr Shona Minson, will explore the findings and recommendations in conversation with prison social workers, Katia Parent and Becky Wray. There will be an opportunity for questions from the audience.
The report will be of interest, and use, to academics, family lawyers, judges, social workers, prison and court staff, & those working in women's justice.
Zoom joining details will be sent out prior to the event.
