About the event

This presentation introduces a novel approach to conceptualizing and assessing corporate actors' impact on the rule of law across different societies. Moving beyond traditional state-centric perspectives, Dr. Uvarova will present the methodology for the Corporate Actors and the Rule of Law Index, developed from a reimagined approach derived from the World Justice Project's Rule of Law Index.

The presentation will cover key factors included in the Index:

  • Preventing corporate capture and corporate contribution to structural inequality
  • Corporate integrity and transparency
  • Meaningful stakeholder engagement
  • Order and security
  • Impact on the regulatory sphere
  • Corporate accountability for human rights abuses
  • Access to grievance mechanisms
