All research students (MPhil/DPhil) working on human rights law at Oxford are warmly invited to the first session of the Graduate Human Rights Forum in the Gilly Leventis Meeting Room at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights on Tuesday 13 October, 16:15-17:45.
For the first session of the new academic year, Clive Baldwin, Senior Legal Advisor for the Legal and Policy Office at Human Rights Watch and Research Visitor at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights, will be speaking to us on his extensive experience of using human rights research to advance justice and accountability in practice.
After the meeting, we will have a social event from 17:45-17:00 in the Lower Atrium at Bonavero. Drinks and nibbles will be provided. The meeting will provide an opportunity to meet the team, establish new connections with fellow students and faculty members, learn about our plans for the year, and discover how to get involved.
About the Graduate Human Rights Forum:
The Graduate Human Rights Forum brings together graduate researchers working on human rights broadly understood, across disciplines, methods, and regions. The Forum is a friendly and inclusive space for graduate researchers to share work and receive feedback from peers, and to meet others working on related questions and issues. Presentations on work in progress, including early ideas and developing chapters, are very welcome. We also organise workshops, which are in the nature of primers on topics of interest to graduate researchers, including research methods, academic writing, and publishing. The Forum meets fortnightly on Tuesdays during term time (Weeks 1, 3, 5 and 7) from 16:15-17:45 in the Gilly Leventis Meeting Room at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights (Mansfield College).
