Abstract
In my latest book with Gerhard Wagner, ‘Law by Algorithm’, we investigate the impact of digitization, blockchain technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) on law-making, legal scholarship, and legal practice in private law. In the research seminar, I will give an overview of the goals of the book, its content, and general research results. A specific focus of the seminar will be on “AI and the Vanishing Human Arbitrator” and “Digital Dispute Resolution” to which the last two book chapters are devoted, and research questions for the future.
