Law Insight Day with Blackstone Chambers
We are now accepting applications for the Law Insight Day on Saturday 14 February 2026!
The Insight Day is for Year 12 students from underrepresented backgrounds, particularly those from geographical regions that have lower numbers of applications to the University of Oxford.
The event is a collaborative event between the Oxford Faculty of Law and Blackstone Chambers designed to introduce prospective students to legal study and careers. It combines academic insight, practical experience, and networking with Oxford students and barristers.
Lunch and early dinner is included. Travel bursaries are available.
Attendees are responsible for booking travel to Oxford. If eligible, details on how to apply for a travel bursary will be sent to you upon application.

Eligibility:
- An interest in Law, in particular the Barrister route
- Attending a UK state school
Selection criteria:
This event is aimed to help support students who come from backgrounds that are historically under-represented at Oxford. As such we will use the following criteria to assess applications:
- Your post-code (if you are from an area of low progression to university or from an area of high deprivation)
- If you are in receipt of Free School Meals
- If you are a student who identify as Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnic (BAME)
- If you will be the first your family to attend university
- If you are care-experienced or are a young carer
- If you are from a military family
