This week we will be joined by Sukrit Venkatagiri, who is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Washington's Center for an Informed Public. 

 

Sukrit's will discuss his research, which lies at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, and Media Studies. He designs and builds AI-infused tools to study cross-platform mis/disinformation, focusing on AI-generated, ephemeral, and rich media (e.g., deepfakes, podcasts, live streams. His work has applications to the health and governance of online communities, as well as collective action and civic engagement. 

 

His work has been published in ACM CSCW, ACM CHI, AAAI HCOMP, and the Journal of Librarianship & Information. 

 

The seminar will be held on Tuesday, 7 February, 14:00-15:00 (UK time) at Balliol College - Wolfson Room (Jowett Walk). As usual, this event will be hybrid. For those of you who want to join online, please sign up to receive an invitation to the webinar.
