From 29 March to 6 April 2025, the University of Oxford was represented at the International Rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition for the fourth consecutive year, after placing 3rd in the UK National Rounds in February 2025. The Jessup Moot is the world’s largest moot court competition, and this year, it has seen a record 800+ universities across 104 countries and jurisdictions participate. The UK also held its largest ever National Rounds, with 24 universities across the country taking part.

This year’s team was comprised of five second year undergraduates: Christopher Fenn (Magdalen College), Ilse Orson-Jones (Magdalen College), Grace Rompotis (Jesus College), Philip Nedelev (St. John’s College), and Delaney Lim (Merton College). They were coached by Lara Ibrahim (DPhil Candidate, Oriel College).

In both the National Rounds and International Rounds, the team showcased its strength. In Nationals, the team broke second in the preliminary rounds after winning all four matches and placed 3rd overall. The team also won the award for 3rd best memorials. In addition to this, Philip Nedelev won the award for best overall oralist, with the other oralists representing the team (Delaney Lim, Ilse Orson-Jones, and Kit Fenn) all placing in the top 15 overall oralists. At the International Rounds, Philip Nedelev placed in the top 20 oralists (13th) and Ilse Orson-Jones in the top 40 (39th).

The team would like to thank the Faculty and everyone who supported the team and helped them in their preparations.
