Call for volunteers - Cyber-space forced labour

Deadline: 27th October 2025

Oxford Pro Bono Publico (OPBP) is looking for volunteers to provide research assistance for PSCORE, a South Korean NGO that works to safeguard the human rights of North Koreans. This project will focus on the international labour laws surrounding North Korean IT workers. Its primary goal is to examine the ILO's framework on forced labour and modern slavery, to inform PSCORE's advocacy efforts and strengthen their ability to protect these workers from further exploitation.

The role is to be undertaken mainly between November 2025 and January 2026. Research for this project will require approximately 20 hours of your time.

The position is open to University of Oxford graduate students, either with a previous law degree or with previous experience in the subject area. We are particularly looking for volunteers with knowledge or a strong interest in the ILO framework, modern slavery, and forced labour. Knowledge of Business and Human Rights, including due diligence, is also advantageous.

If you are interested in volunteering, please send us your CV to opbp@law.ox.ac.uk by Monday, 27th October 2025. Please also mention in your email any specific knowledge or experience you may have in the above topics.

Do get in touch with us if you have any further queries regarding the project.
