On 14 February, the Faculty of Law welcomed over 40 prospective students from underrepresented backgrounds to a taster day at the University of Oxford.

This was a collaborative event between the Faculty of Law and Blackstone Chambers designed to introduce attendees to legal study and careers.

The day included a taster lecture by Professor Jonathan Herring, a presentation by barristers from Blackstone Chambers, and a dinner at St Edmund Hall.

The event was well received by students in attendance.

The Law Insight Day gave me a real taste of the intellectual challenge of studying Law, the amazing teaching at the Faculty of Law, and the impact that a career in Law can have on lives.

It increased my confidence in applying to Oxford and greatened my ambition to study here, Blackstone Chambers confirmed my belief that I aspire to be a barrister.

This was an incredible opportunity to get a real feel for Oxford and it proved to be far less daunting and unreachable than I previously thought.
