Matt Dyson hosts IECL ‘expert meeting’ with Leiden University

Last week (Thursday, 7 March), Matt Dyson, Professor of Civil and Criminal Law and Director of the Institute for European and Comparative Law, hosted an ‘expert meeting’ with Early Career Researchers (ECRs) and Fixed-Term Researchers (FTRs) from Leiden University, as part of his penultimate trip to visit the IECL partners. The purpose of the meeting allowed ECRs and FTRs to present their research in a quick-paced afternoon.

Each speaker had an allocated time slot to inform the team of their current projects and to propose new research ideas, followed by a discussion. Topics included EU/UK relations post-Brexit, criminal liability of aircraft pilots, comparative procedural law, the role of the defence in criminal justice processes, and sustainability and consumer choice of remedies.
