New publication: Private Law and Building Safety
The Faculty is pleased to announce the publication of Private Law and Building Safety, published by Hart Publishing. This book is edited by Susan Bright and Ben McFarlane from the Faculty of Law at the University of Oxford, and Matthew Bell and Andrew Robertson from the Melbourne Law School at the University of Melbourne. It is the result of an Oxford-Melbourne Law School Research Partnership grant.
The collection features a variety of different private law perspectives, from different jurisdictions, on the building safety crisis. The book examines issues in tort, contract, and property law in relation to building safety failures across the UK, USA, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Italy and Canada. It also offers new and valuable insights into the nature, limits and utility of private law.
