The Institute of European and Comparative Law organises an annual French Law Moot which is held in the Law Faculty. The Moot uniquely brings together law students from invited European universities to argue, in French, over a problem of French law. Its ambition is to draw together students from outside the “hexagon”, for whom French is generally a second language and French law a second legal system. Since its inception in 2008, the Oxford French Law Moot (“Concours de plaidoiries en droit français”) has grown to be a national and then European event. The Moot is kindly sponsored by Gide Loyrette Nouel.
The fifth edition of the French Law Moot will be held on 12 March 2012.
