The Berkeley/Stanford Symposium is a new annual gathering of emerging voices in the arts. Organized collaboratively by graduate students in Art History at both Stanford and UC Berkeley, the symposia are open to graduate students in all fields as well as young artists, museum professionals, writers, and other interested parties. Symposia will be held at locations around the Bay Area and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) has generously offered to host in both 2017 as well as 2018. The inaugural symposium, titled “Not At Home: Migration, Pilgrimage, and Displacement in Art, Design, and Visual Culture” will be held on April 8, 2017 at SFMOMA.
