You are invited to attend the Herbert Smith Freehills Oxford Disability Mooting Championship Grand Final and Conversazione which will take place at 3pm on Saturday 7th November 2015, at the historic Holywell Music Room, Wadham College.This prestigious moot court competition has been established by the Oxford Law Faculty to promote the intellectual study of disability and its intersection with domestic and international law. Marking 20 years since the 1995 Disability Discrimination Act and five years since the 2010 Equality Act, this year’s moot will focus on equality law, discrimination and victimisation in the employment context.

Watch skilled law students go head to head to debate this problem in front of a panel of this leading lawyers and academics: Sir James Munby, President of the Family Division of the High Court of England and Wales, Professor Anne Davies, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Anna Lawson, Professor of Law and Director of the Centre for Disability Studies at the University of Leeds and Mr Ian Gatt QC, Head of the Advocacy Group at Herbert Smith Freehills.
To celebrate the beginning of Disability History Month UK, the Grand Final will be followed at 5pm by a celebrity panel discussion focussed on the representation of people with disabilities in the UK media. This conversazione will be chaired by Lord Ken Macdonald QC and will include the BBC's Disability Correspondent, Nikki Fox, Dom Hyams, Editor of Power 100 list of Britain's most influential people with a disability or impairment, Liz Sayce OBE, CEO of Disability Rights UK and three times paralympic gold medallist Giles Long MBE.
