Congratulations on finishing your first term!

As you find time to relax and wind down, we imagine you may also be thinking about life beyond Oxford, and what comes next. Don’t panic! As the convenors of the Migration and Refugee Law Discussion Group, we would like to invite you to an informal chat on the decision to do a DPhil in Migration related topics (or not).

The deadline for DPhil applications is coming closer, and we would like to offer Masters students the opportunity to discuss the choices and challenges in deciding to apply and undertaking a DPhil. If you are thinking about applying to a DPhil (this year or in the future), have found yourself debating over what to do, or would like to hear about experiences of DPhil students in migration issues at Oxford – please join us for this informal conversation.

The event will take place TuesdayDecember 4, 1pm – 2:30pm at Gilly Leventis Meeting Room,Bonavero Institute of Human RightsMansfield College, Oxford OX1 3UA.

Biscuits, coffee and tea will be provided.

There will be representatives from a breadth of experiences present, including students or staff from various departments where undertaking a DPhil in migration related issues is possible. Contributors will include: Carlos Vargas-Silva (COMPAS), Mimi Zou (Law), Cathryn Costello (Law, RSC), Eleanor Pritchard (Social Sciences Divisions), Nora Bardelli (ODID), Maayan Ravid (Criminology - Border Criminologies).
