This presentation will reflect on the methodology and findings of the research that formed the basis for a book published in 2016. Lizzie Barmes will reflect both on the advantages of the approach taken, including in the findings it produced, and the disadvantages. In so doing, she will seek to draw out lessons about both research priorities and for the design of research projects into law and legal phenomena.
