Division deadline: 12:00 PM, Wednesday 18 March 2026

The Social Sciences Division recently launched an initiative to support Mid-Career Researchers in securing large research grants (defined as £400,000+ full economic cost) and for three years of research or greater. Funding can be used to support the recruitment of a Research Assistant or for a teaching buyout of up to 10 months and up to 0.4 FTE.

Please note that the Faculty of Law is unable to support applications for EA/administrative support.

Eligibility at the Faculty of Law is restricted to Faculty and researchers at grade 08 or above. Those on fixed-term contracts must provide an explanation of how they will complete their grant application and use the funding prior to the end of their work at the Faculty. Depending on interest, there may be an internal selection exercise.

The pilot scheme will run until Summer 2026. The Hilary 2026 round, opening 16 February, is the final one currently planned.

Please see guidance here for more information, and contact Armando Roman Zozaya directly to notify of interest in applying.

Applications must be submitted via the University's IRAMS internal research applications system. The deadline to submit will be 12pm Wednesday 18th March 2026

Please notify the Faculty of your interest in applying by 27th February 2026 at the very latest.
