We are proud to announce that the team representing the University of Oxford have finished as Finalists at the Inner Temple Inter-Varsity Mooting Competition 2021.

The team, consisting of Cassandra Somers-Joce (Magdalen College) and Mihir Rajamane (Magdalen College) competed against 20 universities from across the United Kingdom to take second place in this prestigious competition, organised by the Inner Temple Mooting Society. All rounds took place on Sunday 17th January, via Zoom. The moot demanded participants to switch between sides, and across two different moot problems (based on family law and criminal law), with a few moments notice between each round.

Oxford's team received kind praise from the learned moot judges throughout the course of the one-day competition. Mihir Rajamane was commended on the confidence of his delivery, and his detailed knowledge of the law. Cassandra Somers-Joce was awarded ‘best speaker’ in four of the six rounds, including the semi-final. All teams were commended on the general strength of the advocacy on display across the competition.

The Mooting Programme would like to congratulate Cassandra and Mihir on their achievement!
