Clara Martner Sota
Biography
Clara Martner Sota joined Oxford as a DPhil student in 2025.
Her research examines the wrongfulness of hate crimes. Her DPhil is supervised by Professor James Edwards. She is a Tang Scholar at Balliol College.
She holds an LL.M. from Yale Law School (2024) and an LL.B. from the University of Chile (2021). She was also the Yale Fox Fellow in Universidad de San Andrés, Argentina (2024-2025). Before coming to Oxford she worked as a Public Criminal Defense Attorney in Chile and as a Legal Consultant for the Constitutional Convention.
Clara is interested in criminal law and jurisprudence.
