Biography

Elinor Buys is a DPhil (PhD) candidate at the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford, supervised by Professor Anne Davies and Professor Liz Fisher. Her research focuses on modern slavery and public procurement, with a particular emphasis on human rights due diligence, modern slavery risk management, and reporting. She is also the Junior Dean at St Edmund Hall and tutors Employment Law. 

Elinor holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons I) from the Queensland University of Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) (Dist) and MPhil from the University of Oxford. Prior to commencing her studies at Oxford, she worked as a solicitor in Brisbane, Australia, practising in commercial litigation and arbitration.
