Biography

Isotta Rossoni is a PhD student at the Leiden University’s Van Vollenhoven Istitute for Law, Governance and Society (VVI). Her PhD research, supervised by Dr. Maartje van der Woude, Dr. Joanne van der Leun and external advisor Dr. Luuk Esser, focuses on the intersections of migrant sex work and trafficking on the island of Malta. In the past few years, Isotta has worked as grant writer, project manager and researcher in Malta and Italy, collaborating with national and international NGOs, the University of Malta and various consultancy firms. The focus of her work is on sexual and gender-based violence in the context of migration and displacement.
