Karolina Benghellab

Karolina Benghellab is lecturer in Sociology at the University of Glasgow. Her research combines sociology, international relations, criminology, and human geography perspectives, and questions border crossing, people smuggling, security, and state-sponsored violence in borders. Her work mainly draws on extensive ethnographic fieldwork in makeshift camps and borders where she lived with people on the move and facilitators of their movement, as well as diverse groups of activists (Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kurdish region in Turkey).
