Ke Xu

Ke Xu (Jennifer) is a PhD candidate at the University of Macau, specializing in International Business Law and Dispute Resolution. Her doctoral research focuses on the intersection of arbitration and criminal law, specifically investigating how arbitrators are criminalized worldwide and the friction between arbitration's autonomous legal order and state policing power. During her time at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, she explores the professional sociology of arbitrators, analyzing the social dynamics and professional norms that trigger varied institutional reactions when peers are sentenced. She has co-authored a relevant article in Law & Social Inquiry. Her educational background includes a Master of Common Law from the University of Hong Kong (HKU) as a recipient of the Peter Vine Postgraduate Law Scholarship, alongside an LLM (International Law) and an LLB from Tianjin University of Finance and Economics (TJUFE) in China.
