Biography

Maxime is an MPhil candidate at Balliol College, supervised by Thomas Adams. His thesis examines the role of morality in judicial decision-making.

Prior to joining Oxford, Maxime practised as a barrister in Quebec and Toronto, representing clients across diverse areas of law. He also served as a judicial law clerk to Justice Nicholas Kasirer at the Supreme Court of Canada (2022-2023).

In recent years, Maxime has undertaken numerous pro bono projects. He notably argued before the Supreme Court of Canada on behalf of three non-profit organizations to bolster the protection offered by the Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act (S.C. 2017, c. 4).
