Biography

I was at Slaughter and May for 31 years and a partner for 27 years. I led one of Slaughter and May’s Corporate Groups and was also Head of the Financial Institutions Group and the Equity Capital Markets practice. I had a  broad and well-established corporate, commercial and financing practice working across private and public mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, IPOs and other FCA work, financings, equity and debt capital markets transactions and all aspects of corporate governance. I worked with a wide range of clients across multiple industries, including financial services, telecoms, automotive, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, infrastructure, retail and media.

I am passionate about diversity and inclusion in the workplace and more broadly in society. Whilst at Slaughter and May, I was a member of the firm’s diversity and inclusion group, leading and promoting various initiatives to support diversity and inclusion at the firm.

I am a trustee of IntoUniversity, a charity which provides local learning centres where young people are inspired to achieve. At each local centre, IntoUniversity offers an innovative programme that supports young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to attain either a university place or another chosen aspiration.

I am delighted to have joined the board of Legal & General in 2021. I have been appointed climate director and also director for employee engagement and sit on the audit, risk, technology and nominations and governance committees.
