Biography

Yue (Harry) Shen is a DPhil in Law student at the Faculty of Law and a member of The Queen's College, Oxford, supervised by Professor Robert Burrell. His doctoral studies are generously supported by the China Oxford Scholarship Fund, Han Kun Youth Legal Scholarship, CLECSS-Fangda Overseas Legal Scholarships and other scholarships.

His doctoral research examines patent remedies in comparative perspective across China, the United States and the United Kingdom, with particular attention to injunctive relief and the cross-border enforcement of intellectual property rights. More broadly, his research interests span intellectual property law, conflict of laws, data compliance and artificial intelligence governance.

Prior to his DPhil, Harry completed a BE at Fudan University, majoring in Polymer Science with minors in Law and Social Science. He then obtained an MSc in Law (Honors) from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, and an LLM in Intellectual Property Law jointly offered by WIPO and Tongji University, where he graduated as valedictorian.

During his studies, Harry gained experience in both legal research and practice, including in IP litigation and compliance at King & Wood Mallesons. At Northwestern, he co-founded an interdisciplinary law journal, served as an editor of the Magazine of Intersectional Law, and delivered the graduation address as student representative.
