Join current postdoc at the Centre, Dr Cara Hunter, for a presentation and Q&A session about the transition from PhD to Postdoc. She will speak about her experience finding a postdoc, planning a follow-up project that built on her PhD, and share advice for current PhD students considering applying for postdocs.
There will be plenty of time for questions – if you’d like to submit specific questions in advance, please do so using this form.
Speaker bio: Cara is a Leverhulme Trust Postdoctoral Fellow within the Centre for Criminology. Her current research intersects the sociology of nations and the sociology of punishment, exploring how visions of nation and national identity shape penal struggles in contemporary England, Scotland, and Wales. This builds on and expands her ESRC-funded PhD research at the University of Edinburgh, which looked at connections between nation-building and efforts to reduce Scotland’s use of imprisonment post-devolution.
