For our next event, we will have the pleasure of welcoming Sandy Steel (University of Oxford), whose presentation will be titled "Compensation for Public Law Wrongs"

Here's a short paragraph from Sandy to provide some context :

This draft is from a book manuscript ‘Omissions in Tort Law’. ‘P-duty’ refers to positive duties – roughly, duties to improve a person’s position relative the position they’d be in had the duty-bearer or their resources not been present at the time of the impugned conduct. This chapter considers what principles ought to govern the liability of public authorities for breach of positive duties. In the talk, I will hopefully be able to speak more generally about breach of public law duties and rights of compensation. Thanks for reading it and look forward to the discussion.

We hope that many of you will be able to attend!
