Biography

Aikaterini is a DPhil in Law candidate at Keble College, supervised by Professor John Vella.

Her research focuses on the taxpayers’ procedural rights and the decision-makers’ processes and accountability in the context of Exchange of Information (EOI), examining both the Upon Request and the Automatic EOI. She combines a descriptive, legal and policy perspective, aiming to analyse the level of protection guaranteed under existing law, and to design the 'ideal' EOI process. Her thesis also includes a comparative analysis of the EOI practices across different fields of law.

Aikaterini obtained her LLB and her LLM in EU Law at the University of Athens, completing both with distinction and at the top of her class. She also holds a Magister Juris from the University of Oxford with distinction. For her performance in the MJur, she received the St Peter’s Distinction Award.

Aikaterini teaches European Union Law and Constitutional Law at college level. She is currently a Non-Stipendiary Lecturer in European Law at Keble college and co-convenes the EU Law Discussion Group. Prior to her DPhil, Aikaterini served as a consultant at the OECD (Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes), and worked as a trainee lawyer in Athens.
