Biography

Johannes Vöhler is reading for a DPhil in Socio-Legal Studies under the supervision of Associate Professor Agnieszka Kubal. His research focuses on judicial independence in EU Member States facing autocratic challenges. His studies are supported by the Friedrich-Naumann Foundation with funds from the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space as well as by the Law Faculty of the University of Oxford.

Johannes obtained his First State Examination in Law at the University of Freiburg, Germany, and completed a double degree programme at the University of Strasbourg, France, with a Master in EU Law. Alongside his PhD, he works as Research Assistant to Professor Paulina Starski at the University of Freiburg.
