Stergios Magkriotis

Stergios is a researcher on the project Medicalising Immigration Detention, which explores the role and impact of health provision on people inside immigration detention centres and after release in Greece. He holds a PhD from the University of Edinburgh with a research background on the everyday experiences of displacement. Through ethnographic fieldwork at a social kitchen in the city of Athens, his PhD focused on informal practices and relations of support among refugees in the face of the precarity of long-term urban displacement.
